Open World Clock mobile terms and license

Version: 21 October 2026. Applies to Android and iPhone versions distributed with these terms. It does not change earlier licenses or the Windows and website editions.

Your right to use the app

João Carvalho provides the mobile app. You may install and use an authorized copy on devices you own or control, including normal device replacement, store redownload and eligible purchase restoration. This includes personal and workplace use. Follow applicable law and the store's usage rules. Minors need any parental permission required by law or their store account.

Original mobile-specific code and artwork offered under these terms are proprietary. Except for the use permitted above, permission from the rights holder is required to copy, distribute, sell, sublicense, modify or create derivative works of those proprietary portions, or to reverse engineer them. These restrictions do not apply where law permits the activity or a component's license grants it. They do not restrict your cities, settings, exported times or calendar invitations.

Earlier and third-party rights remain

The Windows app and website remain MIT licensed. Shared MIT code and data, earlier versions supplied under MIT, and third-party components keep their own licenses. No existing MIT permission is withdrawn, including permission to copy or modify a version already received under MIT. The bundled component notices and license texts take precedence for those components. These mobile terms do not turn public-domain data or open-source components into proprietary material, and do not promise exclusive rights over them.

Premium purchases

“Buy me a coffee” is a purchase of digital Premium features, not a charitable donation. The planned US price is US$5 once; the store's localized price, taxes and checkout terms control the actual transaction. Buy only if the displayed features and price suit you. Permanent Premium has no recurring charge and removes all app ads while the entitlement is valid. “Lifetime” describes the non-expiring purchase, not a promise of perpetual hosting, future features or support. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Existing monthly and yearly subscriptions retain their purchased benefits and store renewal, cancellation and refund terms. These terms do not convert, cancel or reprice them. Manage subscriptions in the store. Purchases are separate by operating system and store: an Android purchase does not unlock iPhone Premium, or vice versa. Restore eligible purchases using the same store account on that platform. Any store-provided family-sharing or institutional-use rights remain subject to its applicable rules.

The store processes payments. Ownership may require verification and a connection for purchase or restoration. A confirmed refund, revocation or subscription expiry may remove Premium; core clocks and saved data remain available, with free appearance where applicable. Refund requests and cancellation follow the store's procedures and applicable law. These terms do not exclude any statutory refund, withdrawal or warranty right.

Privacy, advertising and support

The privacy policy explains each released version's purchase verification and advertising behavior: https://openworldclock.com/privacy. Ads, when enabled, are limited to eligible free users; paid owners do not receive ads. Privacy choices are available in Settings. No consent to optional advertising is created merely by reading these terms. Availability depends on the released build and store configuration.

Contact João Carvalho at support@openworldclock.com for support, licensing permission or questions. Nothing here excludes mandatory consumer guarantees, remedies or liability, or overrides applicable law. Time calculations are a convenience; independently check critical appointments. Changes to later releases do not retroactively revoke earlier component licenses or reduce accrued statutory rights.

Store terms

Google Play's terms apply to Android store use: https://play.google.com/intl/en_us/about/play-terms/.

For App Store copies, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs the app license: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These are supplemental mobile commercial and privacy terms, not a replacement custom Apple EULA. The Apple agreement and store usage rules prevail if these supplements conflict with them. Independent component-license rights and mandatory law remain preserved.
